My name is Debbie McCraw, and I'm the president of the Newcomers Club of Wheaton, Winfield, and Warrenville. When I moved to Wheaton three years ago, I didn’t know anyone. I attended a Newcomers open house and immediately felt welcomed by the women there. Today, I feel very much a part of our wonderful community, having met people from all over Wheaton and the neighboring towns, learned about local businesses, and volunteered with local nonprofits.
Whether you are looking for a night out or activities with your children, the Newcomers Club has it all! My favorite activities are Chix at the Flix, Girls Night Out, playgroups, and of course, our monthly programs.
So what exactly is the Newcomers Club? We are a women's social organization with a network of approximately 150 families, including:
• New and long-time residents
• Working and stay-at-home moms
• Single and married women of all ages
There are some wonderful benefits to being a Newcomers Member. We offer activities and interest groups for women, adults, kids, and the entire family, and we help facilitate community outreach programs throughout the year. You learn about fun things to do in the area and earn discounts at local businesses. Our members-only listserve helps Newcomers buy/sell items and find referrals for doctors, contractors, preschools, etc. If you have a question, someone in the group has an answer!
We are always welcoming new members!
If you are interested, or have a friend or neighbor who might be interested in joining, come to one of our upcoming events. Prospective members can attend an open house plus one event before joining.
Perhaps you are ready to take the plunge and join today!
Thanks for visiting, and we hope to hear from you soon!
