Meet NEW people and try NEW things! Join the Newcomers Club!

Welcome!  I am writing to you as a relatively new member, having joined the club three years ago when I moved here from California with my husband and two young daughters.  I didn’t know many people in the area and wanted a way to connect with the community and make friends.  Through the Newcomer’s Club, I met a fun group of women who welcomed me with open arms, and by participating in various club activities, was able to learn about the local area and all it has to offer.  I’ve found membership in the club to be extremely valuable, and I encourage you to join us and explore all the possibilities our
club offers.

Our club is open to any woman in the community who wants to make new friends and fill her calendar with fun social activities.  Our members are varied and include single and married women of all ages, mothers and child-free women, and new and long-time residents.  The common thread is a welcoming spirit and a desire to meet new people and experience new things. 

Our club offers tons of events throughout the year that offer opportunities to meet new people and try new things. Some of our regular activities include book club, craft night, girl’s night out, games night, family-friendly events, and movie nights.  Special events include a family-friendly picnic (August), a winter holiday party and cookie exchange (December), and an end of the year celebration (May). We also offer unique events throughout the year (Programs) that allow our members to explore new things in the community; past programs have included painting and drawing classes, makeup tutorials, gardening workshops, cooking demos, wine and beer tasting, and even a fashion show! Members also receive access to a private listserve and Facebook page that can help members buy/sell items and find referrals for doctors, contractors, schools, etc. If you have a question, someone in the group has an answer!

Part of club’s mission is also to give back to the community.  Each year, our members vote on a charity to support for the upcoming club year.  This year, our club will support the Ronald McDonald House.  Stay tuned for several events throughout the year that will contribute to our charitable mission. 

The club is run and led by volunteers, and we’re always looking for new folks to help!  Members who have a fun idea for an event are always welcome to plan it! I’m so grateful to everyone who gives of their time to help run the club and to support our chosen charity throughout the year.
